Church

So I just had to right a quick post about how much I am loving the church Jeremy and I are now attending. It is fantastic. Pacific Community Church in Cloverdale. If you have never checked it out and are looking for somewhere to attend, seriously check it out. The teaching is amazing, the young adults group is great, the people are friendly and welcoming. It has kind of given me a new excitement about the Lord. Not that I wasn't excited before but it has just been refreshing. We both can't wait to get more involved and I just thought I would share it with you:)

He Speaks Red

Luke is the lead singer
Drew is on drums and vocals
There is Jer on the bass
Dan on guitar
Jer on bass and vocals

I have another quick thing to update. Jeremy is back playing with his band He Speaks Red, I'm not sure if I have ever talked about them on here before. They took a year long break while we were away in Perth but they are back playing shows now! They had there first one in Kelowna last weekend and they have a few more coming up over the next few months. They guys in the band are all Christians and they play a style of music that draws Christian people as well as a lot of non believers. They really want to reach out to people through their music and lifestyle and show them Christ's love. A lot of people ask about the name of the band so incase you were wondering they chose He Speaks Red because in the bible when Jesus speaks it is written in red. Not too complicated but fairly creative. Anyways here are a few photos of the show they played last weekend, I couldn't be there because I had to work but I heard it went great.
Oh yeah and I did not take these photos. Our friend Tyler is a photographer and took photos of the show. They are pretty cool.

What's New

Well not a lot is new with us. I feel like I haven't had anything exciting to write about in a while, so I will just catch you up on a few small things. We have found a church that we are loving! Jer has met with the senior pastor about a worship pastor job and while they can't afford to pay anyone right now (which seems to be the case everywhere right now) they are interested and have said that they are hoping that not too far down the road they will be wanting to hire someone. So for now we are just happy enjoying the services and getting involved in other ways. The church is called Pacific Community Church and it's in Cloverdale. The church has had a rough go of it but they have a new senior pastor and things are on the upswing. The church is growing and doing some really great things.

On a totally different note. Jeremy is getting another tattoo on Sunday. I had completely forgotten about it until he reminded me a few days ago. He's getting it done at the tattoo convention that's happening this weekend at Tradex. I have to say I'm not totally excited about it because it's going to be BIG and I'm not sure if I will like it but he really wants it and I don't think anyone can talk him out of it. So I will try to be supportive even though it's freaking me out a little.

Well there's my update on two completely different things (church and tattoos....hmmm.....).

Air Guitar

This weekend Jeremy went to a local concert with some friends. I wasn't there but I heard this great story from him among many other people. So the story goes like this.......
When Jer went to the concert they gave everyone a ticket with a number on it at the door. Later in the night they did a draw for three people to compete in an air guitar contest. The prize was a new electric guitar. So of course Jeremy is one of the three that get chosen. So he gets up on stage in front of 300 other people and plays air guitar. And from what I heard he REALLY played air guitar, I mean he went full out. They chose the winner by applause and of course Jer won. I so wish that I could have been there to see it but at the same time I may have been slightly the guitar embarrassed. haha. But non the less it would have been a great things to witness.

Little White House

This is the store, right now a little section of it is Tracycakes, a cupcake cafe, but most of it is the shop.

So I have a new job! I started last week and so far I LOVE it. I am at the Little White House in Fort Langley. It's a retail shop right on Glover. It's in an old white house and is so fun. We sell home decor, furniture, clothing (really cute), jewelry and all kinds of things. Everything in the store is black, white or some form of that. No colours. Have I said yet that I LOVE it. Right now I am working 3-4 days a week and I am hoping to maybe get more shifts next month. The lady that owns that store also owns the Summer House (also in Fort Langley) and there is another Little White House in downtown Van. I will be working at both the other stores as time goes on but mostly I will be in Fort Langley, only in Vancouver twice a month. My manager is fantastic and so is the owner (they are mother and daughter). I am very excited about it. So next time you are in Fort Langley be sure to stop by and check it out!

Living With Landon

Jeremy and I have been living with Jason, Kristin and Landon (brother, sister-in-law and nephew) for the past couple of weeks. It has been so great. We love our nephew and he is so much fun. We both love getting up every morning and having him there to great us when we come downstairs. He is an amazing little boy and is growing so fast. He is doing some really fun things right now like when you ask him what a lion says he growls and then laughs so hard because he thinks he is so funny. He walks around saying "wow" all day long. He also likes giving and blowing kisses. We are so blessed to have such a great family and love getting to spend so much time with them.

Granny's 75th

One really cool thing we have done since we have been home in celebrate Jeremy's Granny's 75th Birthday. She lives in Penticton so it's a bit of a drive for us but went and it was so much fun. She had no idea that anyone was coming up to celebrate with her. She has 5 children and 4 of them live out of town (Vancouver, Langley, Alberta and Arizona I think) and they all came plus all but three of her grand children. She was so surprised to see us all at the restaurant when she arrived! We had a great night with the family since Jer and I haven't seen many of them since our wedding. Here are some photos of the night.
